Vesterheim
Plans Saturday Driving Tour
Posted 20 June 2008
Vesterheim Museum is hosting a driving tour of three buildings in the
museum's Open Air Division tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 21.
The tour will run from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday and will include the
community of Nordness and the museum's Jacobson Farmstead, including
the Egge-Koren House, the Haugan House and the Norwegian Lutheran
Parochial School.
"It's a great tour for anyone interested in local history and it gives
a unique perspective on community life during the settlement of this
area," said Vesterheim volunteer coordinator Martha Griesheimer.
The tour will take place rain or shine. If there is sufficient
interest, a Northeast Iowa Regional Transit Bus will be available for
transportation. Otherwise carpooling will be arranged and maps will be
provided.
Participants wishing to attend should RSVP to Martha Griesheimer at
563-382-9681 by today, Friday, June 20th.
