River Day Postponed

Today's Mississippi River Adventure Day sponsored by the Friends of
Pool 9, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 21, has been postponed
due to high water levels on the river. This "Day of Discovery and
Adventure' for 200 kids and their parents has now been rescheduled for
Monday, July 21.
High water levels on the river make it impossible for presenters and
kids to achieve the desired goals of each respective discovery site,
and the amount of sediment being transported by the river during flood
conditions make it unhealthy as well.
Children and parents that had been enrolled in the program for the June
21 date need to reconfirm their intent to participate in the Monday,
July 21 event.
Parents should contact Tim Loose (US Fish and Wildlife Specialist) by
telephone (563-873-3423 ext. 11) as soon as possible to reconfirm.
As is always the case when attempting to reschedule an event, many
families will not be able to participate on the new date selected. This
could create new openings for others.
