July 4th at Event in Lansing
Posted 3 July 2008
A special Independence Day celebration will be held in Lansing
tomorrow. Music and food will be featured in the community, and for the
first time in quite awhile, a fireworks display will be held.
The event will be held Friday, July 4, at the Sports Complex in Lansing
beginning at 3 p.m. with a performance by The Olson Dunn Band. The
Burnt Brownies will perform next, beginning at approximately 5 p.m.,
followed by Howard Luedtke and Blue Max at around 8 p.m. A fireworks
display will follow that performance at around 10 p.m. The B.B. King
Tribute Show will perform following the fireworks until around 1 a.m.
Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available, as well
as a variety of food, including BBQ, Cajun dishes, burgers, hot dogs
and corn on the cob.
Those who don't wish to drive home after a long day of revelry may take
advantage of overnight camping in the southwest corner of the Sports
Complex by filling out an application with the Lansing City Clerk. No
glass containers will be allowed in the camping area, parking on the
grass will be prohibited, excessive noise will not be tolerated and
only above-ground contained fires will be permitted.
Tickets are available in advance at a discounted price at The Other
Place, Milty's, T.J. Hunters or at Red Barn Resort. Full-price tickets
will be sold at the gate.
