NICC Offering Classes on Motivation and Effective Discipline

Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) is offering two classes, “Balancing Love and Discipline The Teen Years” and “Motivating the Unmotivated Child” at the NICC Waukon Center.

Balancing Love and Discipline The Teen Years will be held on Tuesday, March 23, from 6:30 8:30 p.m. in Room 113. Believe it or not, teens do want and need boundaries. In this class, participants will gain an understanding of how to communicate with teens, what motivates them and effective use of discipline and setting boundaries.

The Motivating the Unmotivated Child class will be held on Tuesday, March 30, from 6:30 8:30 p.m. in Room 113. What motivates kids? What motivates any of us? In this class participants will discuss ways to lay the groundwork for clear expectations. This can help to improve communication and minimize parent-child conflicts.
